(1) PROTRAN® nitrocellulose PROTRAN® is the classical blotting membrane for immobilizing DNA, RNA and proteins. It is manufactured from 100% nitrocellulose without any cellulose-acetate and triton traces. Many blotting and detection methods have been developed with this membrane because it combines excellent binding properties for proteins and nucleic acids with optimum background properties and suitability for all detection methods. The new recipe for the PROTRAN® now offers much improved stability and therefore even greater ease of handling.
(2) OPTITRAN® polymer backing supported nitrocellulose OPTITRAN® is manufactured from 100% nitrocellulose and is reinforced by a thin, inert fibrous web. It has the same binding and detection properties as PROTRAN®. OPTITRAN® is recommended for applications in which extra-high mechanical stability counts.
(3) NYTRAN® nylon membrane NYTRAN® nylon membranes have extra-high mechanical stability which is advantageous for the multiple hybridization of DNA/RNA blots. The amphoteric nylon membrane for all neutral and alkaline nucleic acid blots and colony and plaque lifts. NYTRAN® has excellent background properties for radioactive verifications and non-radioactive verifications in colorimetric or chemiluminescence detection.
(4) NYTRAN®-SuPerCharge The positively charged nylon membrane with extra-high binding capacity for all nucleic acid blots. NYTRAN® SuPerCharge is suitable for radioactive verifications and non-radioactive verifications in chemiluminescence detection.
(5) WESTRAN® S PVDF membrane WESTRAN® is the hydrophobic blotting membrane with high chemical resistance. It is therefore ideally suitable for all protein blots with follow-on protein sequencing (Edman decomposition).
(6) WESTRAN® S Clear Signal WESTRAN® Clear Signal is specially designed for Western blotting and protein dot-blotting applications. The membrane offers a high binding capacity and powerful signals for a wide range of molecular weights.
